Description

In practice, a management decision to invest in business process modeling is often motivated by the need to document requirements for an information technology project. So this course aims to help students: - Understand and apply BPM project needs and life-cycle stages - Gain knowledge of business process and its role in an industry. - Understand business models and create models for the as-is business process. - Understand analysis techniques static and dynamic and analyse the business process - Apply dynamic analysis techniques using tools and analyse the simulation results - Identify business needs in the process and convert them to the IT needs - Understand techniques for solutioning and design solution models for the to-be process - Understand enterprises and they are implemented in an organization. - Gain understanding of the process innovation and identify the needs for process innovation. - Analyze and review innovated business processes in industry cases where digital transformation is applied.

Learning Outcomes

1. Model As-Is business process from interview scripts using collaboration and workflow models. 2. Analyse a business process applying the root-cause analysis technique 3. Apply dynamic analysis techniques like bottleneck and path analysis to determine possible areas of improvement in a business process. 4. Recommend improvements to a business process and create a To-Be workflow model 5. Evaluate the impact analysis of a recommended process improvement solution to determine viability. 6. Generate the IT Requirements from the To-Be workflow model. 7. Create use-case model and function model from a workflow model. 8. Summarize the components of an IT Solution Blueprint. 9. Design a Concept Solution Blueprint 10. Create the solution overview model and application model. 11. Define product, process and business model innovations and describe their role in business survival 12. Configure and automate a business process in a tool. 13. Analyse the types of innovation in a business and the impact of the innovation. 14. Design process innovation solutions using digital technology
